Eden & Chris : A Wedding Celebration in Wilmington, DE

After an exciting trip down to Orlando for the Wedding and Event Videography Expo there’s no better way to end August than working with a great happy couple as they celebrate their special day.

A quick story about the these guys. They have been together a few years, but the interesting part at least for me was how they met. Eden and Chris met online. Now I know what you’re thinking…no big deal everyone meets on online dating sites these days.  The big difference is these two didn’t meet on a dating site, they met playing an online videogame! For a techie geek like myself I have to smile a very deep understanding smile. Nothing brings two people  together better than battling the forces of evil in a virtual world. I’m being serious now. You really can tell a lot about people when you game with them online.  So next time you’re off playing World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy be nice to that fellow player, they could turn out to be your future husband or wife!

Eden & Chris celebrated their marriage at St Ann’s Church in Wilmington, DE. After the ceremony Steven Bogart with Blink of an Eye Photography ran the bridal party through a nice creative photo session at Rockford Park. When I say he ran the bridal party through the Photo Session, I mean he actually did make them run for a little bit. Looked very cool on video! Steve was a pleasure to work with and best of all we worked as a team throughout the day which always makes things soooo much easier.

After the photo session and a brief limo traffic jam, we all arrived at The Waterfall Banquet and Conference Center for the reception. I shot at Waterfall before so that made things a lot smoother because I knew what to expect. The MC and DJ for the evening was Bill Scheivert. Bill was also a pleasure to work with keeping me and Steve informed about the schedule throughout the evening. Plus, he was an awesome DJ making sure to pick the right mix of songs to keep this crowd on their feet all night long.

Our congrats to Eden & Chris…hope you are enjoying your honeymoon guys!!

Congrats to Tao & Tony!

Great weather greeted us this past Saturday for Tao & Tony’s big day. Thankfully it was not as hot as it has been :) Our day started at the couples home to get the guys and then followed to the venue to get the girls. We worked with the couple earlier in the summer to shoot their love story. It was such a good time we’ve been waiting for the big day ever since!

The ceremony and reception were held at Celebrations in Bensalem. The couple wrote their own vows and it really showed how much they care for one another. After the ceremony the guests danced the afternoon away with sounds from DJ Nicky Butters. Photography services were provided by John Corosanite of Precious Moments Photography. Look for video from the big day sometime this fall.

Our congratulations to the happy couple, have a great honeymoon!

Belated congrats to our July 4th couple!

Normally we congratulate our happy couples pretty quickly after the big day but its been a while since I’ve had time to sit down and kick out a blog entry. Between editing and meeting with happy new clients this has been a busy month.

Our other big news this month We’ve  been nominated for a second year for the Best Videographer in the Philly Hot List Competition. Vote for us by following this link…

So back to the story at hand…despite the 97 degree heat on the 4th, Mel & Mike’s wedding went off without a hitch. Everyone had a great time and we extend our congratulations to the happy couple!

The Pen Ryn Mansion offered a great backdrop for the event with views of the Delaware River. Photography was done by Dave di Rentis Photography  who we worked with before. The crowd danced all night to the sounds of CTO Band 5th Avenue. Look for video from the event soon!

Hope you had a good Memorial Day Weekend!

We had a busy holiday weekend with two happy wedding celebrations. On Friday family and friends gathered to celebrate Kiersten and Andrew’s  marriage at St. Katherine of Siena in Wayne PA.

Following the ceremony was a grand reception at the Overbrook Golf Club. This was probably one of the most happening parties I’ve been too in a while, the Soho Band did a great job keeping the crowd on their feet late into the night.  Between the broad talent of the vocalists and the dance off’s the group did an amazing job. Photographer for the day was Doug  Burns from Candid Moments.

The next day started bright and early for some preparation shooting for happy couple Rebecca and Henry.  The couple celebrated their marriage at West Chester Friends Meeting with a packed crowd of family and friends.

Following the ceremony we had a photo session at the Westtown School with photographer Tony Baiada of Baiada Photography. We got some great video there before heading over to the Gold Ballroom at Mendenhall for the reception. Music was provided by Pat from Schaffer Sound who kept the crowd on their feet all night.

Congrats to both couples…enjoy the honeymoon!!

Denise & Ed: Wedding Celebration at the Farmhouse

Congratulations to Denise & Ed who celebrated their marriage on May 15th!  I know I seem like I say this all the time, but what a great couple. The love was just so obvious every time they looked at one another throughout the day. They had perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony at The Farmhouse at Peoples Light and Theater in Malvern, PA.

They were a fun couple to work with and the day was a breeze thanks to all the other vendors. The DJ was our old pal Pam Moore from Moore Music DJ’s. She’s always fun to work with and keeps us informed about all the important activities as they happen. We had the pleasure to work with Misty from Misty Dawn Photography for the first time. She was AMAZING…not only did she produce great candid photos, but she worked very well with us, kept the communication channels open and I think we did a great job keeping out of each others way during the ceremony and reception.

Congrats again to the happy couple…look for video in a few months!!

Noelle & Travis : A Wedding at the Barn

Congrats to Noelle & Travis who celebrated their marriage on May 8th! They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception at The Country Barn in Lancaster.  We had some wind to contend with on this sunny warm afternoon but things still went off without a hitch.  Noelle arrived at the ceremony in a horse-drawn carriage, a picture perfect start to a memorable ceremony.

During the reception guests feasted on tasty pulled pork and bbq chicken. Desert included cheese cake, shoo-fly pie, and some really good cream filled cakes along with the wedding cake. This videographer could not resist sampling some of the amazing selection. This was not your typical wedding menu!

Photography services were provided by Young’s Photography of York, PA.  DJ Jere Lefever of One O’clock Jump DJ Entertainment provided sounds for the night. Our growing up photo montage that we made for the couple ran during dinner to a nice applause.

Enjoy your honeymoon in Hawaii guys…I’m jealous!

Mazel tov, Andrew!! Our first Bar Mitzvah a sucess

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a little nervous going into my first Bar Mitzvah shoot this weekend. I took a few courses on shooting Bar Mitzvah’s down at the WEVA Expo in Orlando last fall but lets face it, until you actually do something you don’t know exactly what to expect. As it turns out, it  felt like shooting a wedding, but with a lot of crazy thirteen year-olds instead of the usual crazy adults :)   The family and the rabbi at Beth Israel were both  extremely helpful and everything went off without a hitch.

The reception was held at the Whitford Country Club with photography provided by Perfect Day Photography of New Jersey. The DJ’s and dancers from Silver Sound were awesome…I mean really awesome! The one thing I learned from this event is with younger people you need a full entertainment staff to keep everyone happy. This event included a DJ, an MC, and two dancers. The DJ was Steve Vazquez and the MC was Gil Keough.

Look for some video from the event to be posted soon.

Congrats and mazel tov to Andrew and his family!

Congrats to Jenn & Shwet!

Our wedding season kicked off on a high note with Jenn & Shwet’s special day last Saturday. This was actually the happy couple’s SECOND wedding ceremony. They first celebrated their nuptials in India with Shwet’s family before once again declaring their love here in Chester County Pennsylvania. The ceremony and reception were held at the Sheraton Great Valley, a great venue for intimate celebrations like the one last weekend. Although a little windy, the rain stayed away for some great outdoor photos. The flowers on the trees this time of year just add to the beauty of the location.

Taking photos for the event was Ben Reeder of Ben Reeder Photography. The MC and DJ for the reception was our friend Chris McGrath of CBM Productions. We worked with Chris last season and they were a pleasure to work with. Last Saturday was no different, he kept the guests on their feet all night long!

With the first job behind us (or in the can as they say) we look forward to another successful video season here at Valley Creek Productions!

Introducing our NEW highlight video format

The off-season always provides us time to improve our editing skills and make our videos even better. Between our visit to the Wedding and Event Videographers Expo in Orlando in the fall and regular visits to the local videographers association over the winter we were inspired to produce an even better highlight video.

The major changes include taking some of the events out of chronological order, shortening clips, and adding some more filters and effects.

To do this testing we used footage from a wedding we shot in the fall of 2008 for good friends of ours.  It was a great day and an amazing venue so we thought this would be a good opportunity not only to improve our work but to also surprise them with an edited highlight video.

The wedding took place at the Independence Visitors Center located on Market Street in Philadelphia with amazing views of Independence Hall where the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution were signed. The event was planned by Erin Proud of Proud to Plan. Photographer for the day was Erin Farrell of Erin Farrell Photography with music provided by Steve Vazquez from Silver Sound
